There is more to it than that, if you just remove the screws on the\015\012bottom , youll crack the case... first remove the battery, ram and\015\012hard disk., and wifi card. then just above the keyboard, theres a strip\015\012of plastic about 1.25 inches wide that spans the whole bottom of the\015\012screen... pry this up and put it to the side. then remove the screws\015\012holding the keyboard down. remove the keyboard being careful not to\015\012damage the cable. now remove the screws holding the screen down(top and\015\012bottom of case). unplug the screen and put it in a safe place. now\015\012remove all the screws on the bottom of the laptop, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE\015\012THE 2 BOLT/NUT/SCREW THINGS OFF THE VGA OUT PORT ON THE BACK! it should\015\012be fairly easy to get the top of the case off now. leaving you with the\015\012mainboard sitting in the bottom of the case. Now flip over your board,\015\012it may take a little maneuvering to get the board out of the case. be\015\012careful not to bend the board too far. be careful not to damage the\015\012buttons on your PCM CIA card slots. You may have to bend the case a bit\015\012to get the VGA ot port out of the case. Now look at the screw locations\015\012on the fans. the screws are on the opposite side of the board. unplug\015\012fans, and swap them out. now put it all back together! NOTE: if you get\015\012several beeps and or blank screen after trying to startup, you probably\015\012didnt discharge the static from your body before touching the RAM and\015\012it could be either burnt out or you may have to take one of the sticks\015\012out and let it sit for awhile.
\015\012
\015\012P.S. if youre replacing the fans because it overheats... its probably\015\012not the fans! its the heatsink which requires taking it apart anyhow,\015\012but where the fans blow through the heatsink lots of crud gets built up\015\012in there and blowing compressed air into it usually does not help. if\015\012you do all this, be careful taking the heatsink off the board! and dont\015\012damage your chip! if you take heatsink off and chip pulls out with it,\015\012youll have to remove chip from heatsink as it is a ZIF socket and dont\015\012forget to replace the silver heat compound on the chip! i found it was\015\012helpful to pull the heatsink off and run it under some hot water, then\015\012dry it with your wifes blowdryer, use some compressed air and q tips to\015\012clean your fans out really nice (dont take them apart, theyll never\015\012work again) and reassemble.. presto! like new!.. any questions?>\015\012give me a holler!
Remove all the screws underneath first then gently seperate.
