Having problems with your Toshiba Satellite P35-S611 Notebook ?

My Toshiba P35-S611 shuts down without warning a short time (2 min-45 min) after it boots up. The battery isn't hot but the heat dissipation fins in the back are very hot.

I have the same laoptop and its the heatsink and the old thermal paste. Very Common with the toshiba p-30's and p35's. you need to take it apart and clean the heatsink. YOU WONT BELIEVE HOW PLUGED THE HEATSINK FINS ARE,Plugged with lint and dust. I was Amazed when i took mine apart and cleaned it. There's no way any air was getting thru that nasty mess.
\015\012
\015\012I should ask first. Are the fans running all the time??? they should come on strong when you turn it on and boot up but then they should run really slow after that. If the fans are running fast then its tryng to cool the processor down. I bet it turn's off on you after about 30 sec to 45 min of use?????? Mine did all the time until I took it apart and cleaned it. Now it works like a charm (for an old computer).
\015\012
\015\012
\015\012so take it apart , clean the heatsink, apply new therma paste, put it back together and I'd bet it'll work great. Mine did. :)
