Computer Still Shuts down

\015 I posted this before but although I appreciated the replies, I think overheating or bad software is not the reason my Vaio shuts down. For one, if it were an overheating issue, I would have to wait until the computer cooled down a bit before I could use it again but all I have to do is disconnect and reconnect the power cord. In fact, last night it was off all night and when I tried to fire it up this morning, it wouldn't start until I (you guessed it) disconnected the power cord and reconnected it again. I'm stymied. I never heard of a problem like this before. How can the simple act of disconnectig and reconnecdting the power cord (or, BTW sometimes just the extension cord from the wall socket) solve the problem only to have it repeat a few hours later? Any thoughts?\015

I had the same problem with mine. The fan on the back for the power unit gets clogged with dirt. Take the lower back cover off the unit and clean the fan in-take. Problem solved.
Try running a check Disc on the system drive go to start programs run and type in cmd once there type (chkdsk C:/x) exactly like that with the X say yes to the prompt that ask you if you want to dismount the volume, if it asks you if you want to run it the next time the system reboots say yes and reboot. It should start running before the computer logs on. Kick back and relax it takes between 2 and 3 hours to finish. If this doesn't work it might be a hardware issue.
