Laptop not recognizing CD drive F

\015 My Medion Laptop (about 3-4 years old) has stopped recognizing the CD/DVD drive. The icon does not appear when a disc is in place. The drive opens/closes and when a disc is inserted it 'appears' to be reading as you can hear it 'whirring' and the light flashes. Once this stops, that's it...nothing. When trying to copy files onto a disc it does nothing. When trying to play a CD or DVD, once again nothing.\015\012I've had a look in the device management files and noticed that there is an exclamation mark in yellow over the type of driver. The driver is a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-8315. In properties is has a remark that says it "cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39). I've tried to do a troubleshoot, but it didn't help.\015\012Any ideas or solutions to this.
