Having problems with your Mag Innovision 19" LCD Flat-Panel Monitor LT916S ?

Mag 17" goes black, changing capacitors but 4 are 1000uf instead of 470.

\015 First of thank you for giving the info on how to take off the bezel. My\015\012screen(Mag 17" 700p) also goes black(the power light is still on) until\015\012i turn it off and then turn it on again. And it doesn't stop from doing\015\012it. Now I'm just a little confused on the capacitors. There are 2ea 470uf and there are 4ea 1000uf. Am\015\012I supposed to replace the 1000uf with 470uf? Also where the 2 yellow\015\012square things are it seems to be blackish around the area. I have a\015\012picture here. I am concerned that something is burning.http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2405/0104080526sa4.jpgAny help would be appreciated it. Thank you kindly.\015

Answers :

Replace the caps with the correct picofarad ratings. IE if you take out a 470, then put a 470 back in. Also note the voltage on them. You can go higher, but do not go lower. So if they are 470 16v (16 volts), then you can use 470 25v (25volts) etc. Just don't get them mixed up.
\015\012Best option is to replace all of one rating, then all of the other. Also note the stripe on the side of the capacitor. This indicates negative and should match up to a circle printed on the board (probably hidden under the current capacitors) with a light side and a dark side. The negative (stripe) on the capacitor goes to the dark side of the circle.
\015\012
\015\012The burn marks are quite common. It's from heat being transferred through the PCB to dissipate it.

\015\012If you are unsure about any of this then just post back here.
