Having problems with your HP vs19 (Silver) 19" LCD Monitor ?

I have an HP vs19e monitor with several colored vertical lines near the right hand edge of the screen. I have swapped it with another monitor to ascertain if it is the monitor or the computer. It's definitely the monitor. I'm guessing it's a defect in the display which is beyond warranty, so I'm screwed.

Also check for video clips of typical LCD repair, and find out the most common parts on the SMPS/inverter printed circuit boards that FAIL!! You just might be impressed and want to take a stab at doing your own repair of your monitor!! What do you have to lose? Maybe you can keep it as a spare if you fix it?
