\015 No monitor or external monitor. i have been told the monitor is blown and i have been told the laptop harddrive is shot. there are three lights in the bottom left corner of keyboard. when i power the laptop up the third light (harddrive light???) will not stay on however the other two will. the sdcard light stays on the whole time so i know the laptop powers up but i can't get the monitor to turn on. what to do??\015

I sent mine in to HP for repair for the same issue and it was returned over 9 days later unrepaired. HP said they found evidence of spillage and it would cost me $700.00 for the repair even though the hardware problem was due to a faulty part. The customer service manager admitted that it was a problem of theirs but because they were able to find evidence of spillage they would not honor the replacement program warranty. My laptop is just over one year old.
First of all, this indicates that there is Hardware failure with your Notebook.

1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
Note : Please see that there are no external devices or cables connected to the Notebook.
\015\0123. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now.
5. Turn on the Notebook power.

\015\012Unfortunately, if the issue is unsloved, you can get the Notebook repaired by HP if it is purchased in US and even if it is out of warranty since this issue is covered only for few issues like Startup, Wireless etc and should be installed with AMD Processors.
