\015 I have an HP DV2-1030 that is only 5 months old. When I turn it on in the mornings (whether it's been on sleep or all the way off), I can only see the top 1/3 of my screen. The bottom 2/3 consists of a thin white bar, a thick band, another thin white bar and another thick band. I can see the cursor just fine at the top, then as I scroll down, it disappears under the bands & bars, but I can see some kind of movement as I move the cursor back there (kind of like little lines moving). The thick bands are kind of gray, but the pattern will sort of resemble what is on the screen (darker where it is darker etc). When I restart the computer (have to just use the button because I can't see the start button), it comes back on just the same, but if I restart one more time (or sometimes two more times) it will come back the right way and it will stay good all day for the most part.I called HP & they helped me update my Bios & graphics drivers & it didn't help. They are saying I probably need to send it in because it may be the LCD, but my husband is in afghanistan and we skype every day using the webcam so he can see our 2 yr. old. I was just wondering if there is anything else we can try before I have to send it away & not be able to skype with him every day. As for now, I can keep restarting & getting it to come on. \015\012\015\012I know there was a similar post, and the answer was that the LCD was bad, but I wanted to give ALL the info in case it was something a little different.Any suggestions?\015
