Having problems with your HP Pavilion a1210n (ED895AA) PC Desktop ?

I am attempting to put 2 gigabytes of memory into a1210n. It is slow. How do you get into it to insert the memory?

Answers :

Look on the back side of the tower you should see acouple of screws on the right hand side take them out. lay it on its side slide the cover back about a 1/4 inch and lift off the cover before you put in your ram make sure to clean the inside before you put here back together
As you face the back of the PC, remove the two or more screws placed vertically above one another on the right side. This will enable you to remove the right panel as you face the back of the PC. Now you would be able to see the motherboard and all that is there, the HDD, the DVD drive, the CPU with a fan on top of it and many other items. Also would be visible one or two RAM DIMMs placed vertically in a slot or two. They will have a clamp on either side of the slot. Just push the clamps outwards and pull the DIMM out. Replace it with the new one that you want to use and press a little harder. You would find that the clamps close on the DIMM and it can not be removed any more.

Can you mix 1gb and 2gb dimms in the same machine (for a total of 6gb)? I added two 2gb 1066 DDR2 dimms (''OCZ'') to a PC that already had two 1066 DDR2 1gb dimms (''Kingston''). I moved the 1gb dimms to sockets 3&4 and put the two 2gb dimms in sockets 1&2. BIOS settings are on ''Auto'' for all memory (5-5-5-15). When I boot the system, BIOS only detects 4GB of total memory (as does Windows 7 64bit). The two 2gb dimms aren't even recognized (yes, they are seated properly). Can I not mix 1 and 2
