Having problems with your Generic Memory 2-Piece Amplified MultiMedia Speaker System (Beige) Computer Speakers ?

Speakers are not being recognised

\015 Hey, i recently had to install windows xp onto my computer due to the fake version the store supplied us with. Before this happened our speakers were working fine, but ever since we re-installed xp they are not even being recognised. So far we have tried\015\012- Windows troubleshooter \015\012- writing an email to windows but failed to get a reply\015\012- unplugging and turning off the computer, then replugging the speakers back in and turning the computer back on\015\012I feel that my computer is possibly not picking up a driver for my speakers? is that possible?\015\012please help...\015

Answers :

I would like to know if your on board soud or sound card is not being recognized by your system? as far as i know speaker will not work if your sound device driver is not installed. so maybe theres nothing wrong with your speakers. try to go to my computer properties go to system device hardware and see if there is an yellow exclamation in your sound device. if there is, update the driver using the provided cd from your motherboard, if its on board sound device. but if its a sound card, update the driver using the cd provided from your sound card. but if your sound device is ok and there no yellow exclamation, probably you hooked your speaker connector to the wrong jack. it should be the color green one. try and good luck
