Gateway mx3222b laptop ram upgrade problem
\015 I have a gateway mx3222b laptop , it only had 256mb of ram in it , I have purchased a 1gb ram chip for it but when I put the chip in,the laptop will not boot up , it will boot up with the 256mb chip in .. not sure if I have to do anything prior to upgrading ram , or if it is a dodgy 1gb ram chip ..anyone help ???\015

Your computer does not support 1GB memory sticks. The max memory for that system is 1GB which would be 2 sticks configured as 512MB
