On power up lights & fan start for about 3sec.nothing on screen,then shuts!

Make sure you are plugged into a working power adapter, if the issue remains the mainboard, video adapter or one of the memory modules has failed.

What I would suggest first is to take the battery and power adapter off the laptop and let the machine be without power for 5 minutes, then plugin the power adapter only and try starting up, if the problem is still there, disconnect the power adapter, turn the laptop over, find the memory cover, it will have 1 to 4 screws, most likely 2. unscrew the two screws to get to the memory compartment - memory modules.



Remove both modules from the laptop, start up without ram, the computer will not start up in this condition, repeat 3 times. Turn on, wait a moment, hold the power button to turn off, do that 3 times.

insert other one of the memory modules back into the laptop, just the other one, remember to remove the power adapter every time you do something.

After you have placed the memory module in place, try starting up, if the problem is still there, disconnect the power and take the ram module out, use the eraser end of a pensil to wipe the gold contacts clean.

Reconnect the same module into the other slot on the laptop and try starting up again, repeat this process with the other module if it doesn't start up.



If the problem still remains, the mainboard of the laptop is most likely faulty, to confirm / find the exact fault, take the laptop to a professional, parts will most likely have to be replaced, if the mainboard has to be replaced consider the price of a new laptop to the repair / replace estimate / part price that you get.

Hardware failure is what it is and what I mean by hardware failure would be one or more of the following:

1. Cpu overheat explains why the fans is turning on right away.

2. Dust or debris present in vents or the hardware failed at early stage.

\015\012Please follow up with the warranty process as this laptop will need repair not only the cpu but probably more depending on the present damage. There is no real true diagnosis here but chalking it up as a complete hard ware failure as NO-BOOT and FAN is prevalent.

\015\012Seek out warranty repair if that is not a option replacement parts will be pretty expensive to find for the unit thus www.ebay.com would come in to factor when trying to seek out a DIY repairs.
