Hp laptop random shutdown - overheat?

\015 My HP pavilion started shutting itself down -- first the screen goes black and then the computer shuts down. At first it was just sleeping or hibernating but the longer it went on, it would shut down. Also the intervals of functioning got shorter. Also, it says the AMD Turion 64 x2 TL50 drivers are corrupt or missing. How can the computer run with the processor drivers corrupt? Installed speedfan and it is hot. Won't measure the fan speeds.\015

You may need to remove the heatsink and put new thermal paste and perhaps copper shim to restore the thermal contact to the heatsink.
