Having problems with your E-Machines W1800 PC Desktop ?

I tryed to restore my emachine w1800 with my restore disk and when I reboot a blue screen comes up a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you see this screen try restarting.If it comes up again check for virus or remove newly installed harddrives or controllers. I have two but the second one isn't plugged up.

Could be a couple of things, usually when you get the BSOD (blue screen of death) there is usually a ram problem, have you noticed your pc getting slow, sometimes the ram sticks break down over a period, try getting hold of a memory tester software and checking the PC, this is usually done through the inital start up before windows is loaded, please ensure though that if you need to get more ram that you use the correct one for your motherboard, buying incorrect ram can cause more problems and is a waste of money, www.crucial.com is good for checking ram in pcs, also you need to make sure that if it says low density you use low density ram, or high density for high density. also make sure that you buy the one with the correct amount of pins.
