Having problems with your Dell XPS M1710 Notebook ?

CPU does not need a driver. the 'driver' is nothing more than a way to identify the CPU. (ie model, stepping, etc). I would suggest ignoring windows and run a Dell diagnostic. if the hardware checks out ok, then its a programming issue. It could also be a BIOS issue. Check the BIOS to make sure CPU cache is enabled, and everything is set for high performance. If your machine is under warranty, CALL DELL and have it serviced or replaced.
