Hi there!

You may have to flip your laptop on its side in order to navigate through your operating system while fixing this.

The video card in your machine is either an ATI Mobility Radeon or FireGL. Either way, there should be an ATI graphics utility that comes with the driver for the video card. If not, you can download the driver here:

To launch the utility, right click on the desktop and select ATI Control Panel (it may be something different, but it should be similar). If that option isn't available, select Properties.

In the Settings tab, click the Advanced button and you should see a tab available that has the name of the graphics card or ATI in the title. In that tab, there should be an option to launch the utility.

Once you are in the utility, there might be a "Display" tab or expandable option that includes another option to "Rotate Display". The steps necessary to correct the position of the screen should be minimal - perhaps clicking a button that says "Rotate" or selecting the desired position using radio buttons.

If that series of steps is not possible for you, I may need more information to help you correct the problem. Do you know when this happened and what you were doing on the laptop? Maybe playing a game that caused the display to rotate due to error or something.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

My screen seems to have rotated clockwise 90 degrees. I do not know if this is virus prolbem or just something odd that suddenly happened. I accidentally opened an email I was trying to send to junk. Shortly after that, this issue occurred. I have spoken to two different people- one in Staples and one in Best Buy who said they have seen this happen on laptops without it being a virus that caused it. Any solutions?
