Having problems with your Dell Latitude D600 Notebook ?

Touch pad How do I disenable the touch pad? I may be clumsy but my cuffs seem to brush it and as I use a mouse anyway I'd like to disenable the touchpad so that I don't keep jumping all over the place accidentally.

Hi, easy to fix this.

I have a Dell 610 myself and have the same problem, in spite of the software updates, the pressure sensitivity doesn't work real well.

To disable the glide pad, boot into the setup screens, F2, use Alt+P to scroll through the pages for mouse vs. keypad. Select Serial Mouse. Doesn't make sense when you have a USB mouse, but the PC will keep your USB mouse enabled and this disables the Glide Pad.

If you're confused or I mistyped this, ask me via the comment box below and I'll make it more clear. Its pretty late here on the West Coast, but this will fix your problem.

Thanks for rating this solution fixed once we have you settled and finished if it takes another response from me to reboot myself and be more accurate as to what page its on.
