Having problems with your Dell Latitude D410 Notebook ?
Mouse pointer seems to randomly move around the screen
\015 Hi. The mouse pointer on my Dell d410 has taken to randomly moving around the screen on startup recently. Within a few minutes it levels itself out and then seems to work ok, but in the meantime the touchpad does not work and using the trackpoint to move the mouse is difficult as you have to fight the movement of the pointer itself. I've tried re-installing the drivers and have done a thorough virus scan but this has found nothing.\015\012\015\012Thanks for your help, Robert\015

The problem is in the trackpoint itself, it is defective. The fix is to either disable the function of the trackpoint through software or by physically disconnecting it.

\015\012Disabling through software can be done usually through the BIOS or in the Control Panel in windows. If there is no way for you to disable it then you have to remove the keyboard and cut the connector that is coming from the trackpoint control board. Make sure that you do not cut the keyboard cable. The trackpoint cable is usually about 4 wires thick and is seperated from the thicker keyboard cable. The only other thing to do is to replace the keyboard.

Hello- I just purchased a refurbished HP 1740 17inch flat screen LCD monitor from Overstock.com. The display is great, however on occasion the screen goes white. Moving the mouse does not help. (It's done it once as I type this). I looked around-- one post said to delete the Logitech camera I
