Having problems with your Dell Inspiron 1150 Notebook ?

Ethernet adaptor and Local Area Connection 2 cable unplugged

\015 My Dell Inspiron 1150 was purchased 2 years ago. Lately it has started flashing a "Local Area connection 2 - a network cable is unplugged" message every minute on the bottom right-hand-corner of the screen. I have replaced the ethernet cable, got the Cable modem checked, done troubleshooting with the Internet company and Dell and nothing works! I read somewhere that the ethernet card in the laptop is probably the cause (as I have tried everything else and it didn't help). I bought a new card from the Dell site.\015\012\015\012My question - does anyone have instructions on how to install the card in the laptop? \015\012Thanks\015

Answers :

Is that an external usb nic card? you can just directly connect it to the usb port.
