Having problems with your Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop ?
I have a dell computer with windows xp professional, however, i had some problems with my computer and it is asking me for my disk, i cannot find them, is there a way i can deal with this

The computer might ask for a disk, however, we could not determine which disk you need. The name of the disk or file that the computer is looking for should be in the error message that appeared on your screen.
Your computer should have the disks the time you purchase it. Those disks contains all the drivers that you need for the components that are installed in the computer.
NOTE: PLEASE VERIFY THE EXACT ERROR MESSAGE SO THAT WE COULD KNOW WHAT DISK IS NEEDED.
The two options that you have are:
1. Contact Dell and have them check the model numbers of the video card, sound card, Network Interface Card (or what we call the LAN card), DVD player and Windows XP installer.
Once they have all the information that they need, they would either send you the disks that you need.
2. Provide us the exact model numbers of the components and I will try looking for the driver so that I could help you out with this problem.

My hard drive crashed on my toshiba x205 - the cdrom works great in windows. I see it as the first boot device in bios, but the computer will never boot from the cd, even if recovery or bootable cd is in the drive.
