You need to download the sound driver's, It seems to be corrupted or not available in your notebook.
The download link for drivers is :-
http://www.download3k.com/System-Utilities/System-Maintenance/Download-Realtek-AC-97-Drivers.html
Once downloaded, install and restart the notebook.
