No Boot/Start up Disk-CRAPY Warranty

\015 I got this computer 13 days ago. I tried to find a way to back up the files already installed, i.e. Boot/Start-up. No such luck, I called 'Acer support" They only send them when you have a problem? I asked about my warranty, they wanted me to pay for it. Now get this... I was told my warranty had expired??? It had expired in 2007, the warranty starts the day ACER ships them out. NOT the day we buy them. While they are sitting in the stores the warranty is running, so like mine, it was EXPIRED the day I payed for it!! Now that's some CRAP. I have some faxing, and more phone calls to make, I will Get a boot disk. Just a F.Y.I. GOOD LUCK!\015

Check your local state/country consumer laws to do with warranty as I know here if it's a 1yr warranty it starts on the day you bought it. We can also take it back to the place of purchase if need be and not deal with the manufacturer as that is who the contract is with.

If it's a fairly new PC it probably didn't come with any Operating System media as they usually put this onto the hard drive now days in a special partition. This is good and bad but seems all OEMs are doing it now so nothing we can do. They do sometimes leave you instructions on how to create your own backup media in case of total hard drive failure, you have to just supply your own blank CD/DVD disks and burn them.
