\015\012Acer have got a function key to turn it on and iff (i thought mine was broken for a year). Hold the function key, which is located bottom left of keyboard, and then press F7. It should be F7 anyway.
\015\012
\015\012Hope that helps for your touchpad
    \015\012
  1. Some computers have a touchpad disable and enable hot key, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article "Disabling or Enabling the Touchpad Using the Hot Key" to see if your computer has this hot key and how to use it.
(When your computer does not have the hot key or the hot key did not correct the issue proceed to the next step.)

\015\012

    \015\012
  1. Turn off the computer (when the touchpad does not respond hold the power button down for up to 15 seconds to turn off the computer).

\015\012

    \015\012
  1. Unplug everything except the power cord, including the following:

    \015\012
  1. Make sure the touchpad or your finger has no dirt, grease, liquids or food on it (the touchpad has to make a good contact with your finger to work correctly).

    • When the touchpad still does not work correctly proceed to step 6.
    • \015\012
    • When the touchpad does work correctly, attach one external device at a time and test the touchpad to see which one may have caused the issue.

  1. Some newer computers have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties.
