Having problems with your Acer AL1716 17" LCD Monitor ?

Capacitors problem Hi! I would like to know why if capacitor broke then the appliance stop working while we say capacitor is there to store charge. So my question is why the appliance fail to work while the power is there if the capocitor broke?

Answers :

Capacitors have many functions depending upon the circuit. Perhaps the most common circuit where a bad cap will be a major problem is the power supply. Since these store charges, they are used to smooth out the DC current generated from AC power. If there is noise or ripple in the DC current, it can be interpreted as a signal and processed as such. This is just one example. There are hundreds more.
