Can i replace the video carfd myself i believe its an on board video card

Answers :

In this case you would not replace the video card. You would add one. Yes, you can do this by yourself. However you need to know what expansion slots are in your computer and how much power your computer provides. There are two ways of doing this. The first (and easiest method) would be to go to this website and download Everest Home Edition. After installing the program look into the motherboard section and determine if and how many

PCIe x1
PCIe x16 2.0

Slots you have. Afterward see if the program will report your Power Supply Unit's power wattage output. I'm guessing you have a 200W PSU, however it's good to be certain.

The second (and more difficult) method would be to open up the side of your computer and peer in. Look for slots such as the ones depicted in this picture. On the bottom-right of the picture there are 7 expansion slots. This is from left to right:

PCIe x1
PCIe x16 2.0
PCIe x16 2.0
PCIe x16 2.0
One I don't know

Obviously now it's evident that the secondary method is more difficult. So I highly recommend you use some software which can determine what type of expansion slots you have. Or you can always research your motherboard and I'm certain there will be some form of a users-manual that will tell you what type of expansion slots you have and how many.

With that information in-mind, we need to know how much power your computer provides. A decent video card will require a minimum of 350W for power. Anything less and you can forget about it (unless you buy a new power supply). If you don't know how much power your power supply provides, check the user-manual of your computer. If you still can't find that information, check the inside of your computer. Look for the device on the inside of the computer where the computer's power cord connects from the outside. Once you located that device look on it for stickers which list the PSU's wattage output. For example, 200W.

I'll guess that you have a 200W PSU (Standard PSU for desktop PCs) and you will have to upgrade. Not to worry, we can take care of that as well! Amazing what the Internet is capable of.

What we do is go online to this website. Once the page loads use the navigation menu to go to Computer Hardware>Power Supplies. I highly recommend the PC Power & Cooling brand. Not only does it supply A LOT of power, it is extremely reliable, has a 20+4 motherboard connector, and has an efficiency rating of over 80%. It is the best available. There's only one problem. We have to make sure it fits your computer case.

The easy way to determine this is to figure out if your computer's case is ATX or Micro-ATX. The PC Power and Cooling brand will fit an ATX case but not a micro-ATX case. So with this information in-hand we can proceed.

Now that we have the power-issue fixed and we know what type of expansion slots we have available, let's get looking. Head over to this website. Here use the navigation menu to go to Computer Hardware>Video Cards & Video Devices. After the page loads click, "Desktop Graphics / Video Cards" on the top-left. Afterward you can narrow down your search with the, "Guided Search" feature on the left. At this point I would select which interface video card I'm looking for. For example, AGP, PCI, PCIe x16, or PCIe x16 2.0.

Have fun looking for that Video Card. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be glad to help.
You can replace it if its not an onboard video card if its on board you can just add a grpahics card.
