Having problems with your XION PSU XION|XON-800R14N 800W RT ?

Whining sound with xion 800 watt power supply.

\015 I replaced my blown 600w xion with an 800 Watt version. When I start the PC I get a high pitch whining noise. any ideas what that is? do you know where I can find an installation schematic. The new supply has nicely loomed wires. I doubt the fan is rubbing a wire.. any help on installing would be great if you could recomend a source for instruction. Thanks,\015

Answers :

There is a fan insine the power supply, and also a fan on the CPU. Occasionally there is also a fan on the chassis of the computer itself.

\015\012Turn on the computer, take the case off, and listen to identify the source of the noise. If it's inside the PSU, return it and get a new one.
