ViewSonic VX2235wm monitor looses power ...

The first thing to try is to make sure the power cable is tight. I know it sounds too easy but with the movement causing the power outage it sounds that or a broken power cable. Check the cable to make sure it is tight and it that isn't it, change the power cable. If neither of these work you probable have a loose connection between the cable plug and the power supply on the unit which will require soldering and professional help to fix.

I've not seen this problem on a ViewSonic but have on a Dell flat screen. The fix was the obvious one: the power connection on the back of the monitor was loose -- have you checked this. Also if the power cord is too tight it could be the problem. Other then this, it sounds like a short inside the monitor.

Viewsonic va700 comes on with full display for one second then blacks out. Green power light remains on as well as the amber light. A different monitor worked fine on my computer and the va700 had the same symptoms when plugged into my laptop. Powering down the monitor and then back up produces same effect. I haven't had chance to swap cable yet but problem is so precise in duration each time, it seems unlikely to be a loose wire connection. Maybe capacitor problem?
