Having problems with your ViewSonic Optiquest Q9b 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor ?

I have a vewsonic Q9 Model number VS11201. I had to reload all the software due to a virus but did not do a total reinstall. While I was fighting the virus the monitor very briefly flickered lost color then came back but seemed to be ok. But now my monitor is pixilated. It's colors are great, but on white or light areas its really out of focus. Also its like I can see the little black pixles. I would compare it to looking through a fine meshed screen. I went to hp / Ms and could not find any dri

For some reason HP does not offer the video drivers for downloading from their site. But here is the download from Intel, the maker of the video chip set used on the motherboard. Download and run the driver installation program. This will make sure the video drivers are correctly installed. If, after all that, you still have the same funny display, then it might be that the monitor does have a problem. However, since you said you reloaded your system and were having virus problems, I would try the drivers first.

Here is a link to a page at HP explaining how you might be able to make a set of recovery CDs for your computer if it didn't come with any (most computers don't). You might try this option if it will work on your computer and you didn't completely erase everything when you reloaded your software before. Sometimes Windows just gets so messed up that the only way to fix it is to completely restore your computer to its original factory setup. This erases anything you have added (programs or personal data like downloads, pictures from a camera, etc.) so you do it only as a last resort.

Some HP systems have an option at boot-up to enter a system recovery screen. When you turn your computer on, watch the screen for messages that go by telling how to get into setup or system recovery (usually by pressing one of the function keys like F10). Systems that have this recovery option may not allow you to make recovery discs.
