Having problems with your Toshiba Satellite P105-S6207 Laptop ?

\015 Hello! I've been using my Compaq Presario (M2223AP) Laptop for 2 years now, then all of a sudden I saw 2 vertical lines on the screen. 1 line is a clear red line (but not so thick & dark) located about 1/3 from the left of the screen while the other is a very faint (thin, almost transparent) line located about 1/5 from the right of the screen. I think it might be a monitor problem. I'm not very good in fixing computers so I have not done anything about it yet. I'd appreciate your help very much. Answers :

There could be three different possibilities why you would get a line on your lcd display.

First, it could be a missing signal from the controller IC to LCD driver IC

Second it could be a defective LCD driver IC itself

Third it could be a dry contact in the tape carrier package ( TCP).

Attach an external monitor to your laptop and make it your primary display unit to see if you are still getting the lines if not its you TCP if you still get lines it will need to have either the LCD IC or the controller IC checked and possibly replaced.
I have the same problem too.

Its like my laptop has had a stroke. Not only do I have the coloured lines issue but I also have a stripe that is about 5inches wide (Everything in it is darker on half the screen).

I thought i'd put this comment here just in case anyone got in touch with Toshiba. copy and paste this entire thread to show them that THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.

Not that they would care any way- Toshiba don't build things to last any more. My sister has had two Toshibas break just after the warrantys have expired. I have two friends with the same Equium A60 laptop as me and all overheat and turn off.

Come on Toshiba, sort it out. Every customer you get, is a customer that will not be returning and probably put off for life. I know I will never be buying from you again.
Is that the kind of service that you want to be giving?

Instead of rushing to get your products out and spending a fortune on advertising, spend more time and money on PRODUCT TESTING\015\012. You'll see that word of mouth, satisfied and possibly even (dare I say it) happy\015\012customers will get you a lot more sales and respect than any\015\012advertising campaign can do.

Hope to see some improvements soon and I pity anyone that is struggling with their Toshiba.
