Toshiba Satellite limitations on network adapters all wireless, need other

\015 Hi\015\012I have a toshiba satellite running windows vista. I also have a nearby neighbor hacking into my laptop via the wireless feature. It works regardless of the switch being off and I can see him on my firewall. It appears someone is using router setup to tunnel my connection thru their own before hitting internet. On a new reformat, went to a page I had never visited (geek.com) and it said hello, (member name), tho I was not a member! IE tunnelling. I do not use or have a router. \015\012\015\012My internet connection/network monitor program shows I am uploading even when offline (landline), immediately when I enable isatap (microsoft tun adapter), --from device manager....I am immediately broadcasting despite the wirless switch off. So appears some new hardware added inside laptop w/.o my permission. My warranty is out, but we already had the entire motherboard replaced as it was found to have been altered once before. \015\012\015\012This Toshiba comes with Wan adapters (6 of them), Realtek Ethernet wireless, Atheros Wireless, and NO normal network adapter., When I disable ALL the wireless adapters, the modem cannot dial out. There was a problem with my internal toshiba modem and the original ac adapter; the adapter box literally made a whining noise while plugged in, and the modem was broadcasting over FM audibly when connected to internet. when I replaced the adapter with a new one, the modem wouldnt function, said couldnt dial without waiting, and had loud static over the laptop speakers. The only time modem didnt broadcast over my FM stereo speakers, was when I ran on battery only, nixing the original adapter cord. I have had breakins to my house. The modem had been broadcasting audibly over my FM speakers in the house, a loud whine same time/length as connection, and seems to be something in conjunction with the original power adapter...like as if the original adapter was altered to boost signal as an antenna and./or had hardware added into the box. There was also a beeping noise in conjunction with the keyboard key presses, also over FM...as if all keystrokes were broadcasting as well over FM. To get around this,I disconnected toshiba interior modem, used the new power cord, and got a pcmcia modem card. This seems to work, but cant get any connection without utilizing the WIRELESS network adapters in device manager. \015\012\015\012So the problem is still ongoing - I can connect if I use ISATAP, but even before I plug in my phone line, the internet connection program that shows a graph indicates I have begun uploading/sending out data and this has to be wireless origin. \015\012\015\012I have been looking in device mgr, and the preinstalled Realtek Wireless ethernet adapter, the Atheros wireless network adapter, as well as 6to4 and isatap, and microsoft loopback adapter, are all wireless based. WHY is there no normal landline dialup networking adapter, for us who dont USE wireless, to secure our connections with? The Toshiba switch for wireless doesnt appear to do anything; despite it being set to OFF, I am still broadcasting, and can also hear it over my FM speakers. \015\012\015\012How can i GET such an adapter, (Normal Oldfashioned Dialup Networking adapter) without being a computer tech, either via firmware/software, or via a pcmcia card? Does such a thing exist? My firewall shows, new network found, with a specific IP address, finally pinpointing my hacker...this happened when I firmly installed from 'add hardware', the 'hidden' microsoft TUN and 6to4 adapters that had been only periodically showing themselves while making a connection actively, in device manager, --otherwise hidden. \015\012There was also a 'ethernet controller' that popped up once in a great while in device manager, and when I firmly installed it thru add hardware, I can see the details of it..doesnt look like it should be there. So...\015\012\015\012I would like to bypass all this hightech wireless crud in my toshiba network adapters list, and find a way to install a NON wireless traditional DUN adapter. How to?\015\012\015\012\015\012Thanks.\015

You need to log into the router setting by typing something like 192.168.*.* etc, check the right one for your router and enable some type of encryption like 128bits wep..Then your network is secured with a password which will stop anyone access. Now also change your router password if possible to prevent access from others...Hope this helps.
