Computer will not turn on, even while plugged in and with battery

\015 My mechanic went to turn on his laptop and it would not power on.\015\012While plugged into adapter, power and battery/charge lights are not on as if power is not being supplied (DUH!) ;-)\015\012This machine has had the screen replaced (by the end user and it was working fine after installation, reboot, and was utilized daily for personal/business use.\015\012One day my mechanic, Johnathon tried to start it and it hasn't worked since.\015\012I have computer refurbishing skills and intend to solve this issue and before I unbutton the unit I'd like to know if there is a fuse or Master Reset switch or a jumper I can pull to fix the problem.\015\012\015\012Any help or a schematic of this motherboard would be greatly appreciated.\015\012\015\012System Unit; Toshiba Satellite M115-S1061\015\012Model No; PSMB6U-00G005 \015

There is no Master Reset Switch, Circuit Breaker, or Fuse. (I'm just full of cheer, huh?)

A.Sounds like it's a problem with the DC Power Jack. The port where you plug the AC adapter into. This jack's body is made of plastic, with a metal round pin in the center, and either a round metal shell, or a flat contact lug/s in the back.

The thick round pin in the center is the Positive (+) connection. The thin metal shell, (Or the flat contact lug/s), is the Negative connection.
( - )

This is what the jack looks like not installed,
http://powerjack.us/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=9822

Hard to see from the small photo, (And trying to enlarge it does no good), but there are metal flat prongs that are attached to the body of the jack. They, of course, go to the Positive and Negative connections of the jack.

These are soldered to the motherboard.
1.Accidentally, the AC adapter while plugged in, can be bumped, and the ensuing force can damage the body of the jack. (Replace the jack)

2.The force can also break loose some of those solder joints. It can crack them.
(Re-solder the solder joint/s)

B.The motherboard area for this jack, has a circuit that senses whether power is to come directly from the AC adapter, or the battery, and also senses when the battery is low, and needs a charge.
This circuit could be damaged. No offense to you, or your computer tech skills, but you won't be replacing this circuit. You will be replacing the entire motherboard. (Check on Ebay, is a tip)

Here is information about how to completely disassemble a Toshiba Satellite M105. You'll find this model is close to the M115, and the info will cross directly over.
There are photos that help detail the information, as you go along. You can click on each photo to enlarge. You will see -> Page 1::Page 2::Page 3, at the top and bottom of the article. You are on Page 1.

Tips from me
1.MAKE sure you buy an ESD wrist strap, and use it. Radio Shack has them for around $6.
Clip the alligator clip to the metal frame of an empty computer case, or a computer that is open, and unplugged from power.

2.If this is your first time, I suggest digital photos, write down notes, and make drawings, as you disassemble. You may get called away in the middle, and this info will be there for you when you get back.

3.Use a clean egg carton for the various screws. Label each egg holder for where the screw came from. Makes life a lot easier!
