Toshiba Satellite will not power up, no lights either!

\015 My Toshiba Satellite will not power up, no lights or anything will not with or without the ac adapter. It was working fine and just quit last night. It has also done this before and the way it acted I thought it had a short in the power plug in the back of the compueter. Does anyone have any ideas to get the old girl back on her feet!\015

Clean battery contacts with an eraser and try again
Take a leather needle(large needle) and while holding it with a pair of heat resistant (rawhide) gloves, heat the point until it glows right away push the point gently straight down until it form a small "L" shape at the point. Cool it off with some water and wipe it clean. You'll need a good magnification headset or good reading glasses to see the inside of the AC adapter port. On one side of the port there is a slim bow shaped strip of metal. What you want to try to do here is increase the bow in this strip using the tool you've made by hooking it in the center from behind and gently pulling inward. That shoul fix your problem. If not grab a multimeter and check the DC voltage at the pin. If you look at the power plug input it should be printed into the plastic for the required voltage.
