Having problems with your Toshiba Satellite 2435-S255 Notebook ?

I have a Toshiba 2435-s255 laptop. I want to add memory. It has (2) 256 PC2100 SODIMM sticks. If I put in (2) 512K PC2700 sticks, will I gain any benifits for the faster speed?

Answers :

Not to burst your bubble parrotheadpc but the 2435 only supports up to 1gb of ram
You can put (2) 1 GB sticks in that computer and you would see very, very fast results and the machine will thank you for the upgrade because it will not have to work as hard. Just remember though that you still have the same processor as you did before so if that is the bottleneck in the system, then it will run as fast as the processor allows it. The extra RAM will free up 90% of bottleneck issues.

Ram upgrades I am upgrading 2 e-machines computers with Ram. My question is what order to fill the slots with memory. The first machine is a T4200 which has 3 slots in it and holds a 1.5 gb max. I am adding 2 sticks of 512 mb each to the factory installed 256 mb. Assuming the current stick is in slot 1, do I now put in a 512 each in slots 1 & 2, then place the 256 in slot 3? The second machine is a T3624 with 2 slots and a 2 gb max. I am replacing the current 256mb stick with one each at 1gb & 5
