Having problems with your Toshiba Portege M100 Notebook ?

Lines on LCD

\015 I think the LCD might be shot, but here's the situation:The external port appears fine. It is hooked up right now actually. This rules out the motherboard, right? When I boot, the right 3/4 of the LCD screen appears fine. The left 1/4 has vertical lines running from top to bottom. After 3-4 minutes, the whole screen turns white. So, the inverter is functioning fine. I checked the connections to the screen and I cannot see anything wrong. I disconnected / reconnected it multiple times and each time, the screen has lines and goes white after several minutes.I'm guessing the LCD needs to be replaced. However, I believe the screen part of it is ok... perhaps I can find the LCD circuit board?Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!\015

Once you see lines on the lcd that defitinely means the lcd is bad. As far as the board to the lcd, that would be behind it but with all the delicate tiny IC's on it, its would be near to impossible to troubleshoot it and start replacing components cause its done by machine and the legs of the IC's have match up perfectly with where your going to solder it into place.\015\012\015\012Inverter is good, when ineverters go bad its either you get a dim screen, weird colors, or even a white screen.\015\012\015\012My suggestion, definitely get a new lcd put in there since your getting lines in the lcd. Also your lcd cable could be flaky as well but those are cheap so getting one of those isn't a problem. Get those two things replaced and your laptop should work like new.
