Having problems with your IBM ThinkPad 600E 2645 Notebook ?

PROBLEM WITH ERRORS HARD DRIVE DEV-017 ERR 81- FRU 6010 APRECIATE

\015 HI, I have a IBM 600E 2645 4u..I.m having a problem getting back into win,s 98.I know part or all of the problem has to do with the hard drive.In the area where it checks the whole sys. individualy,the only place it showed a problem was the hard drive where it showed these errors. DEV 017-ERR 81- AND FRU 6010.IT MENTIONED IF THIS PAGE KEEPS SHOWING disable bios memory options such as caching or shadowing.Problem is file partmgr. sys.page fault in nonpaged area.I don,t know how to do this.This show,s up after win,s has loaded and ready to open.With out a CD in these # show in top left corner,1990302,1990305I though F8 was where safe mode was but it don,t show it.I WOULD APRECIATE ANY HELP WITH THIS ,AND I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.TONY\015

As you boot up the computer, keep on pressing the F8 key, you will be able to get into the Windows Startup Menu and be able to select Safe menu.
\015\012You most likely have a problem with a bad block in the page swap file area.
\015\012You may still not get Windows to open, and basically your need to format the hard disk and this will lock out the bad blocks and then you can install Windows again.
\015\012This also indicated your hard disk is wearing out and more than likely you will get more bad blocks and this will cause further problems such as computer locking up to data file corruption and or loss files etc.
\015\012You have an old laptop (it must have come out of the ark), it is not fixing, unless you can get another hard drive very cheaply, put your money towards a new one.
