IBM NetVista A40 Memory Upgrade

\015 I tried to upgrade from two 256mb (512mb) SDRAM Memory to two 512 (1 GB) SDRAM Memory. System (Windows XP) and BIOS only show 512mb. Someone told me that this IBM model only has a capacity for 512mb of RAM.\015\012There's got to be a way for this PC to manage 1GB!! Anybody know any tips/tricks? I've already upgraded the BIOS. \015\012\015\012For what it's worth, my email address is: [email protected]\015\012\015\012Warren Hewetson\015

Hello friend,
\015\012There is no such type of huge problem. At first you check the RAM is properly fitted in board. Then you start your PC and Open the Window. Thenafter right click on My Computer and Browse Properties. In the Properties you check the General information about Operating System i.e. your System Version, Registration No. and Computer hardware Vendor. In the Computer tag you found your RAM information. If you will not find any information about RAM then immediate mail me on [email protected]
It would be advisable to go to the IBM website and then to their support link, find the manual for your system and see what it says about memory upgrade of your system BPCS
