Having problems with your IBM Computer System Cooling ?

Our IBM Server Mt -M 8482 - 1SG Series 206 The fan has stopped after being very noisy and the server turns itself off after a while. I believe that I need a new fan.

Answers :

I think that you are correct in your diagnosis.
\015\012I would look for a good fan that has ball bearings for your application.
\015\012You will need to measure the fan and get the correct size: i.e. 3” or 4” square.
\015\012If you can try to locate your CFM (Cubic Feet Per Minute) on the fan that you have and purchase one that is equal to or better. That will allow more cooling on your system.
\015\012I know that you can get these from any computer vendor, but shop around. Don’t just look for the best price; you get what you pay for.
\015\012I use an online source of www.tigerdirect.com for most of my computer needs.
