Having problems with your HP w2207 Monitor ?

Black areas on lcd monitor

\015 I have an HP w2207 LCD 22" flat screen. For a while there has been a black bar across the bottom of the screen. Now I see that a big splotchy dog is developing at the bottom. Can this be repaired or is it time to bite the bullet and get a new monitor? (This one was purchased in March 2007 and is out of warranty.)\015
