Having problems with your HP Pavilion F1703 17" LCD Monitor ?

I have an hp tx 2000 laptop-after playing a game on it last night-i went back later to use it and the screen is black and it will not boot up-even though the blue wi fi lights and fan is running--I hit the f8 key but it did no good ---any sugestions?

Answers :

Turn you laptop off. Connect an external monitor to your laptop. Turn the laptop on and see if you get any video signal on the external monitor (you have to use the right button combination e.g. Fn + one of the Function keys). If you get a signal the problem comes from the screen/backlight/inverter/cable. If there is no signal, check the memory (if you have 2 memory modules use only one at a time, the other one could be defective or check your memory with another laptop or use some known good memory etc.). If the memory is ok then most probably the motherboard is defective (at least the integrated video card). Expensive to fix or to replace it. Have it checked by a professional.
