Having problems with your HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook ?

Having problems with HP Pavilion dv9000 overheating and shutting down. I've downloaded a new bios as HP support suggested (but I think it was actually an older version of the bios that was on my laptop), and I've used compressed air sparingly to blow out the fan. Any other suggestions?
