Having problems with your HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook ?

I dropped my dv9000 lap top and it do not turn on what could be the problem

Answers :

Lets start with a couple of quick questions first...if you have the power adapter plug in the socket, does the socket light up? If it does light up, do any lights appear on the front of the laptop or on the button strip? and which lights are showing if any? The one thing about DV9000 is not only are they vulnerable to shock but they are fragile in every other way and their power throughout the laptop is carried by flat cables under the laptop that can be pulled from the mainboard. If you have lights at the power port and on the power strip, a cable may have come off from the power strip down under the keyboard to the motherboard where it simply fits into a socket. These sockets do not have locks, the cables are held in by tension.
First you could have screwed up the hard drive or knocked a memory module loose check those and see open up the little covers on the bottem of it and remove the hard drive and try and boot, if it works then you need a new hard drive and o.s. if not put that back in and move on to the memory modules open the panel up and check to see that they're seated properly and then remove them and try and boot if it works then you need some new memory

I tried electrical tape for the hole just to see if that was the problem before I go buy another cord, but still the lap top does't turn on. Could it be a more serious problem?
