Having problems with your HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook ?

Insect buzzing noise.

\015 This insect-like buzzing noise on my HP Pavilion dv6000 is most definitely NOT coming from the area of the fan (left, rear) or from the hard drive (left, front). The people that are claiming that it's the fan are driving me nuts, frankly. Twice, I've taken apart this laptop and definitely know where all of the major components are.\015\012\015\012I flipped over the laptop and listened for the noise and it seemed to be coming from the front center someplace. I took off the cover where the RAM is located and the noise is the loudest from THIS area right around where the memory cards are located! Is there some "listening device" that can locate the exact source of this electrical noise (maybe something relatively simple sold at Radio Shack or used by electricians?)? Please help. Obviously this insect noise is plaguing many different HP Pavilion laptops. Thank you.\015

If you feel the that the HDD or the fan is not making the insect buzzing noise then you maybe right it is the RAM... Open the ram slot and check how many RAMS are in there if there are two then remove the top RAM and keep it aside and start the system to check if the other RAM is making the noise...If there is no sound then check the same RAM which is in the system in the other slot and check if you are getting the noise...Then remove the RAM and then place in the RAM that was kept outside to check if the same happens...If the same happens at a particular slot then the slot is the problem and not the RAM....If one RAM is making a problem then you need to contact HP for the RAM....Please contact me if you need any guidance further down from here

Hi, the problem is that when the HP Pavillion is switched on thereis a very loud beeping sound. One long and two short beep together.
