Having problems with your HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook ?

F11 problem i have a hp pavillion dv6700 laptop and i'm trying set my computer back to the first day i got it. But F11 want work for some reason, i push it as soon as the computer comes on, and i keep pushing. but nothing happends. please help.

Have you checked if the recovery partition (FAT32, approx. 10 Gb) is there yet? If so, you could try this: Boot the laptop using Hiren's Boot CD > Partition Manager. With PM you can change the active partition to the recovery one, apply the change and let the machine reboot. It just worked to me while trying to solve the same issue. It seems a previuos format on the system partition altered the Master Boot Record on the disk so the F11 function did not work anymore.

If recovery partition still there, then at boot instead of F11 keep pushing F8 - this will give you to a prompt of safe mode and other options and you will need this option: "Repair your computer" - thats Windows repair, Hp recovery, System restore and more.
