Problem w/ Toshiba Satellite M35X-S1142

\015 On one day the laptop stopped working. When you would press the power button you could hear noise of fan for 3 sec no screen image at all and then silence but all of the led ligts would be on. After few months I just pressed the power button and it ran perfectly fine, but when i wanted to turn it again it behaved the same way as before. I tried replacing the memory, but it did not help.\015

More than likely it's the motherboard, especially since the fan only runs for 3 seconds. There's not much an average user can do except to have a local repair shop diagnose the problem and swap the motherboard. This is really common with the dv series.

Take a look at HP's warranty site, they just expanded the warranty on many of their systems with problems similar to yours.
