Having problems with your HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook ?

I need to restore my laptop to the factory settings. I have the recovery disks that came with it. What are the steps I need to take when using the operating system restore disc? I'm not familiar with computers, so please be specific. Thank you

Answers :

Hello
First
what disk do you have?
one should be OS disk and a other should be drivers and software or a recovery disk.
if you have a label recovery disk start with that.
if you have an OS + driver disk start with the os disk.

put it in cd and press a key when it says so.
here is a very good guide to follow
after you installed the os then run the driver recovery disk just click next, its not that hard.
Ok, first insert de recovery disk in the laptop. Restart the computer, while rebooting, press delete, or f2, or both at the same time, the laptop will let you know by a message in the bottom "press f2 to enter set up". Now you are entering the Bios, read carefully and scroll to Advance ???? ( I don't remember the name of it) and hit enter. Look for First Boot device or drive or whatever it says, and choose CD/DVD. Not all Bios are the same so must read the instructions in theleft panel. And for your second Boot device choose the HDD. Hit the escape button. Now, to exit and save you must press f10, the computer will reboot it self and it will prompt you if you want to boot from cd drive (To boot from cd press any key) so you press enter, and after that just follow the instructions that it display while the installation.
