My computer keeps beeping when I turn it on!!!

\015 My computer keeps beeping when I turned it on. I tried cleaning it's dust off but it still beeps. Sometimes it starts up without beeping but in a couple of minutes it will freeze and i have to reboot it. Then when i turn it back on it beeps or it turns itself back on and in a couple of minutes it freezes and it keeps going on and on. It's not the mouse or the keyboard, I have a security program so there isn't a virus. What could it be then? Is it something with my RAM, Motherboard or Hardrive? Is it overheating??How can I check the temperatures? with a thermometer :D ?? Should I buy a fan ??? I read a couple of stories similar to mine and people say to take off the RAM and clean it. I'm don't even know where the RAM is located? and How should i clean it? With what?\015\012Please Help\015

The most important thing when working on a PC is to remove the power cord. As there will be voltage on the motherboard. Some motherboards have an LED (light) wait till it goes out. The memory are long narrow boards that sit in slots with levers on either end that when pushed down release these boards. If you have two they will be located in slot 1 and 2. Remove both and put the one in 2 in slot 1 and then try to boot your machine. If you have only one board remove it and try rebooting and listen to the beep code as this will change according to the error. Beep codes should be available on the manifactures site of the motherboard but be specific with the type of model which is on the motherboard MSI GIGABYTE etc.
OK.

Thy to identify RAM, remove it and clean the contacts with a rubber (the same you use to erase the pencil marks).

Put the RAM again and try to boot.

Another problem can be the temperature...
Remove the fan (and clean it)
Remove the heatsink (and clean it)
Put new thermal compound

put back the heatsink and the fan (connect the wires)

check your temperature in your BIOS
