Having problems with your HP Compaq FS7600 17" CRT Monitor ?

Virtual memory I keep getting a popup saying my virtual memory is low and that windows is upping it but then my computer screws up immediately, Does anyone know what this is about?

Answers :

The topic of Virtual Memory can be confusing for some folks, but\015\012I'll try to explain it as best I can (starting with the basics).
RAM,\015\012or, "Random Access Memory", exists in every computer. RAM are actually\015\012pieces of hardware (chips) and are used to store temporary data. The\015\012temporary data is then used for computation by the CPU (Central\015\012Processing Unit) at a later time.
So, for example: when you\015\012double click to view a movie file on your computer, it is first loaded\015\012into RAM (a chunk at a time), then moved to the CPU (Central Processing\015\012Unit) where it is processed and decoded, and eventually output to the\015\012screen and sound card. And voila, you have your movie.
RAM is\015\012also known as "Primary Memory". Comparatively, Virtual Memory (also\015\012known as Secondary Memory or Page Memory) is used in place of Primary\015\012Memory, but only if there is no Primary Memory available at the time.
Since\015\012Virtual Memory is stored on the hard drive, it is significantly slower\015\012than RAM; therefore, virtual memory usage should be avoided whenever\015\012possible. To compare: hard drive speeds are measured in Milliseconds\015\012(MS) where as RAM speeds are measured in Nanoseconds (NS). Generally\015\012speaking, the more RAM a computer has, the faster, or "more optimized"\015\012it is -- especially when switching between tasks.
If you are\015\012constantly getting the message that your system needs to increase\015\012Virtual Memory settings and you're not overworking the PC, I would\015\012suspect a memory leak. This is, of course, assuming that you haven't\015\012played with your virtual memory settings in Windows (it's best to leave\015\012it alone or restore to default).

FIX
look in Control Panel:\015\012System, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Advanced, Virtual\015\012Memory. I believe it's in a similar location in other versions of Windows.
I can no longer play CD'S whats up with that?

My HP Pavilion dv9005us has two issues which I cannot resolve. The wireless device is not even recognized or detected by the computer, and there seems to be an electrical problem where the lighted buttons at the top flicker on and off from time to time, which may also be linked to an issue where the computer will at times refuse to turn on after I press the on button and watch it all light up in response and immediately shut off. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
