Having problems with your Harman Kardon HK695 Computer Speakers ?

Left computer speaker is unpredictable

\015 I have a 2.1 harman kardon computer speaker system from about 8 years ago. Recently, the left side (the speaker without the volume control) started becoming unpredictable. Depending on how much i turned the volume control on the right side, the left side turned on and off, and sometimes had a very low volume compared to the right speaker. I also noticed that the left side had a 2 second lag when I turned the speaker system off (sound kept being emitted for 2 seconds after turned off)Any ideas?\015

Answers :

Take no offense but after 8 years, you got your moneys worth. Unless you're good with the soldering iron and schematics, call it a great investment and update your speaker system. I imagine your computer is newer than the speakers and you can take advantage of some 5.1 surround sound! It's really great if you do any gaming, too.
\015\012 Since you'll probably be getting rid of them anyway, you might want to crack it open and see if there's any loose wiring that can be fixed.
\015\012Thanks for using Fixya.com. Please rate this tip accordingly. I wish there was a better solution but I usually get 5 years out of mine so I feel jealous. :-)
