I have a set of stereo computer speakers, Altec Lansing, Model #BX1121 ''Powered Audio System'' that has a subwoofer and a left and right speaker. When I plug the system in and turn the power on, I get nothing, as if there is no power going to the system. It is manufactured for 120V-60Hz-30W. I am currently overseas where the standard voltage is 220V. I suspect someone may have plugged the system into 220V by mistake. If so, could this have damaged the system. And, if so, what electronic compone

My speakers simply will not turn on any more. i was playing music on them and then all of the sudden the power just will not turn on in the sub. Does this mean i blew them out? I didn't really have the volume up that lowed I would be surprised if they were blown out. Is there anyway I can fix this?
Maybe. There should be a fuse. It will prolly look like a black knob on the back of the sub. Unscrew it and check the fuse. Subwoofer Repair Have had my speakers for a few years now, one day the light on the control center was no longer lit, found a blown fuse and replaced it, while powering back on I heard a power surge inside the sub woofer for about a second then the fuse blew again. I am assuming there was a large surge from the building i was living in to create this problem in the first place. Wondering what can be done because with out the sub the rest of the system is rendered useless.

My Creative I-Trigue L3800 speakers have stopped working. The system receives power (the volume control lights up) but I am no longer getting any sound. I fear something may have blown but not sure what. I have had a look inside, circuit board doesn't appear damaged. There is one user-replacable anti-surge fuse which I could be the problem (a T6.3A 250V glass fuse), but the element is not broken and the glass is still clear which would suggest it is okay. Any other ideas?! Thanks.
