Speakers making loud pitchy noise

\015 My harmon/kardon computer speakers are making a loud pitchy noise when turned on. Even when I disconnect the speakers and plug them back in the noise is still there. The fuse still looks ok.\015

This is a problem in the surround section, replace caps c59 ([email protected]), c63 ([email protected]), c64([email protected]). Also check for any other caps in the area

If they are computer speakers try this: (remember i am doing this from a windows vista) on the bottom right hand of the screen there should be a volume key right click on it and click on playback devices then right click on your speakers and click properties and go to levels and turn down the volume from there and see does that work... hope this helps.

Woofer popping i have the logitech z-5500 set, and ever since i got it, its hasent been working properly. i havent been able to get any bass out of it, the control unit works though, as well as the speakers connected to it. it makes a loud popping noise, sometimes. the popping can go in and out, sometiems for long periods of times. most of the time, it doesnt make any noise. but when it does, its really annoying.

Sounds like a loose connection or a blown speaker. I would try just playing around with the wires to see if you can make it pop, if so, the wire you were messing with is the most likely culprit. Also, verify the sub cone has no damage or cracks. I ... Logitech Z-5500 Computer Speakers
